Arts Research & Cultural Consultancy

about

CUCO Arts Research & Cultural Consultancy is based on the vision that artistic practice generates critical knowledge capable of shaping cultural values, institutional models, and social transformation.

The research-led practice emerged from sustained engagement with contemporary arts in diverse cultural, institutional, and geographical contexts. CUCO works across research, project development, cultural strategy, programming, and curating, prioritising situated knowledge, long-term collaboration, and ethical modes of engagement.

Research is approached as an integrated and relational methodology that informs project conception, collaborative architectures, and practices of mobility and cultural exchange, orienting the development of critical and sustainable cultural infrastructures.

CUCO was founded in 2014 by Sílvia Escórcio, a consultant, researcher,
and cultural manager with extensive experience in contemporary arts
and in the conception, development, and implementation of research-led projects.

In addition to consultancy and project work, Sílvia contributes essays, interviews,
and critical texts to cultural publications, and participates as a speaker, trainer,
and jury member in academic and training contexts. Her current research focuses
on Artistic Mobility, examining equitable and context-sensitive modes of collaboration and circulation within contemporary arts and institutional practice.
